Pier Catch
Information Stored on the Device
Pier Catch stores certain information locally on the user's device, including:
- language preferences
- game settings
- high score and gameplay-related progress
- purchase status for ad removal
This local information is used to provide core app functionality and preserve the user experience between sessions.
Advertising and Consent
Pier Catch uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and manage advertising consent choices where required by applicable law.
Depending on the user's region, consent status, and privacy choices, Google may process information such as:
- IP address
- approximate device identifiers
- diagnostics
- app interaction and ad performance data
Pier Catch does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use the IDFA for cross-app tracking.
When available, advertising privacy choices can be managed from within the app through the privacy settings provided by Google's consent flow.
In-App Purchases
Pier Catch offers a non-consumable in-app purchase that removes ads. In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pier Catch does not collect or store the user's payment card details.
The app may store the local purchase state on the device and may also query Apple to verify or restore purchase entitlements.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob, for advertising
- Google User Messaging Platform, for consent management
- Apple App Store / StoreKit, for in-app purchases and purchase restoration
These third parties may process information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
Data Sharing
Pier Catch does not create a dedicated user account and does not maintain a proprietary backend profile for individual users. However, data may be shared with third-party providers as necessary to deliver ads, manage consent, and process in-app purchases.
Data Retention
Locally stored game and settings data remains on the device until it is removed by the user, the app is deleted, or the data is reset through app or system actions. Data processed by third-party providers is subject to their own retention policies.
User Choices
Users may:
- choose whether to purchase ad removal
- restore eligible in-app purchases through the app
- manage advertising consent choices when the option is made available
- delete the app to remove locally stored app data from the device
